WILL SUPERBOYS OF MALEGAON, CRAZXY GROW WITH WORD OF MOUTH?
The holy month of Ramzan will begin this weekend and hence, there won’t be the release of any biggie until Eid. Hence, this week will see the release of two small indie films, Superboys Of Malegaon and Crazxy.
Superboys Of Malegaon is based on the fascinating Malegaon film industry. It is directed by Reema Kagti and stars Adarsh Gourav, Shashank Arora and Vineet Kumar Singh. The film has got massive acclaim and moreover, the reviews from India are overwhelmingly positive.
Sadly, the buzz for the film is hardly there. The posters seem dull. Hence, Superboys Of Malegaon will need positive word of mouth to attract audiences from Saturday.
The other major release of the week is Crazxy. It stars Sohum Shah of Tumbbad fame and looks like yet another hatke film from the man. The use of songs like ‘Goli Maar’ and ‘Abhimanyu’ caught some attention.
But overall, just like Superboys Of Malegaon, Crazxy also suffers from a lack of hype. Both films will collect less than Rs. 1 crore.
Meanwhile, Chhaava is unstoppable. It collected more on its second Saturday (Rs. 41.50 crores) than the first Saturday (Rs. 34 crores). Like last week, it again got a mid-week holiday and it led to a boost in the collections. The entry in the Rs. 500 crore club is on as of now but the third weekend will give a fair idea.
