PUSHPA 2 – THE RULE ALL SET TO CROSS 600 CRORE MARK; CAN IT ENTER THE 650 CRORE CLUB?
In our last week’s edition, we had predicted that Pushpa 2 – The Rule’s Hindi version has all the chances to emerge as the highest opener ever in Hindi, beating Jawan’s day 1 collections of Rs. 63.87 crores. As expected, the film went beyond this number and collected Rs. 65 crores on its day of release, that is, Thursday, December 5. The word of mouth was incredible and hence, it continued to do huge business since then.
On Friday, the film dropped Rs. 53 crores, which is normal after a film opens to such numbers. On Saturday, it jumped to Rs. 67 crores and then on Sunday, it collected a mind-boggling Rs. 76 crores. No film has ever collected so much in a single day.
Pushpa 2 – The Rule had a superb hold on Monday when it earned Rs. 41.50 crores. The Tuesday and Wednesday collections were Rs. 34.75 crores and Rs. 29 crores respectively. On Thursday, it is expected to collect around Rs. 23-24 crores. This means that its first week collections would be around Rs. 390 crores.
The aim for Pushpa 2 – The Rule now is to collect around Rs. 20 crores on its second Friday. If it manages to do so, then it’ll have a second weekend of around Rs. 90-100 crores. At this rate, it’ll cross the Rs. 500 crore mark on Monday, December 16. Then it’ll all be about crossing Stree 2’s collections and emerging as the highest grosser ever in Hindi.
Pushpa 2 – The Rule has no competition this Friday but on December 20, it’ll face the heat from Mufasa: The Lion King followed by Baby John on December 25. How it holds after these films arrive remains to be seen. Looking at word of mouth, it should manage to sustain well. Also, it’ll have the advantage of numerous holidays and part-holidays. The Rs. 600 crore mark will be crossed. But if the holds are incredible, then it won’t be a surprise if it enters the Rs. 650 crores club as well.
