Zwigato tells an important topical story, of the challenges faced by delivery workers. A few scenes are touching and engaging in the film. But overall, it fails to move or impress due to the weak script and direction. This is not a plot-driven film and that’s fine. Many arthouse films focus on a few days of a protagonist’s life and still manage to stir up emotions. In Zwigato, things happen at random and a few plot points are not explained properly. A few side characters don’t have anything substantial to do. The final scene doesn’t create the desired impact. Kapil Sharma puts in a sincere effort, though, in a few scenes, his acting is slightly off. Shahana Goswami gives her 100%. Gul Panag, Sayani Gupta and Swanand Kirkire are fine in cameos. Yuvika Brahma and Prajwal Sahoo are okay as Kapil’s children and don’t have much to do. The same goes for Shantilata Padhy (Kapil’s mother) and one wishes her character was better utilized. All in all, Zwigato is a disappointing fare.
