Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se has disaster written all over it. Ideally, the series should have ended with Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 which was a flop. Yet, the makers went ahead and made this flick, hoping it would click with the viewers. But that’s not possible when you have such a pathetic script in hand. I was shocked to see that there was hardly any scene or one-liner which made viewers laugh from their hearts. Even Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 was funnier! Something like this might have worked last decade or before that but in today’s times, it just can’t. What works is the action scenes of Sunny Deol but it has very little screen time shockingly. Sunny Deol makes a genuine effort but he can’t do much when the writing and execution are so poor. Bobby Deol is strictly average while Dharmendra is decent. He gets to play a cool character but is letdown by terrible writing. Same goes for Shatrughan Sinha. His entry scene is superb and one expects fireworks but alas, nothing much happens after that. Kriti Kharbanda looks stunning and like Sunny, she also tries her best to give her best shot. Music is forgettable, just like the film. Avoid!
