(Crisp) Movie Review: WILD WILD PUNJAB by FENIL SETA

Wild Wild Punjab, which has released today on Netflix, is produced by Luv Ranjan and is about four friends on a mad ride. The premise is promising and a few scenes bring the house down. Also, it’s just 110 minutes long. Sadly, all jokes don’t land as intended. The drug angle and action in the end are forced. The finale doesn’t have the desired impact and an important track is forgotten by the makers. Varun Sharma and Sunny Singh, however, put up entertaining performances. Manjot Singh, too, is damn good. Jassie Gill does well but hardly has any dialogues. Patralekhaa is likeable while Ishita Raj delivers a confident performance. Rajesh Sharma is dependable as always. Gopal Dutt (Jain’s father) plays an amusing character but is wasted. Aasheema Vardaan is okay. All in all, Wild Wild Punjab is an average film.
