Toy Story 4 is quite entertaining and touching, just like the previous films in the franchise. There’s lot of adventure as this time, the toy family gets embroiled in some madness in an antiques shop and a carnival. If compared to the first three parts, then Toy Story 4 lags behind. The first 3 parts are outstanding and part 4 seems a bit repetitive in terms of plot points and even the negative character in the movie. The plush toys Ducky and Bunny are funny only in the lone dream sequence while the miniature cop Giggle McDimples is hardly interesting and I wish Rex, Jessie and Hamm instead had more screen time. The finale thankfully is moving and much unexpected. Also, the change in the personality of Bo Peep is fascinating. The voiceovers are great, by Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Annie Potts, Tony Hale, Keanu Reeves etc. All in all, Toy Story 4 is definitely watchable and despite the minues, it deserves to be seen for the entertainment, emotional finale and also because this is possibly the last ever Toy Story film.
My rating – *** ½ out of 5!
