The Signature, which has released today on Zee5, tells a very relatable story; we all have been through such an experience or we at least know somebody who has faced a similar medical-financial crisis. The first half sees a lot of movement in the narrative. But in the second half, the story doesn’t move forward much. Even though the film is just 96 minutes long, it seems lengthy and dragging. The way the family members of the protagonist just don’t care and are not even standing with him in any way is very unconvincing. And how come this well-aware person is reminded of a mediclaim policy only 10 days after his wife’s hospitalization? Anupam Kher, however, puts his heart and soul into the performance. Neena Kulkarni is hardly there though the whole film revolves around her; she is decent. Mahima Chaudhary has a very late entry but makes up for it with her sincere performance. Annu Kapoor lends able support but in some scenes, he’s unbearable. Manoj Joshi and others do well. Ranvir Shorey has a hard-hitting cameo; his act would remind viewers of Gabbar Is Back’s intermission scene. All in all, The Signature is not worth watching.
