(Crisp) Movie Review: THE EXORCISM by FENIL SETA

The Exorcism rests on an interesting story – an actor is shooting for a horror film and he gets possessed. A few scenes are arresting while one funny scene in the second half is novel. But overall, the film is boring and moves at a painfully slow pace. The horror elements, including the one in the climax, give a been-there-done-that feeling. Russell Crowe, however, does well as an actor who has fallen from grace and is struggling to redeem himself. Ryan Simpkins (Lee), Chloe Bailey (Blake Holloway) and David Hyde Pierce (Father Conor) lend able support. Sam Worthington (Joe) is unconvincing. All in all, The Exorcism is highly disappointing.
