(Crisp) Movie Review: TEST by FENIL SETA

Test, which has released today on Netflix, rests on a solid star cast. To see R Madhavan, Nayanthara and Siddharth in one film itself makes for a great watch. Sadly, the script doesn’t do justice to this casting. A few scenes appear disjointed and the execution is such that one doesn’t get involved into the goings-on. There’s a change in the personality and mindset of the character mid-way and though it is unexpected, it also unconvincing. The final scene is lovely but the scenes before that are messy. R Madhavan is a scene-stealer; despite his character’s questionable actions in the second half, one can’t deny that he has delivered a power-packed performance. Nayanthara comes next followed by Siddharth. Lirish Rahav (Adi), Meera Jasmine (Padma; Arjun’s wife) and Kaalivenkat (Bharani) are good in supporting roles. All in all, Test is not worth watching.
