(Crisp) Movie Review: TADAP by FENIL SETA

Tadap has a very ordinary story and the first half ends very quickly. The second half also has some scenes that might put off viewers. But the twist in the tale saves the day. What also works are some scenes in between that are very well shot by Milan Luthria and written by Rajat Arora. The original film, RX 100, was lengthy and here, the makers have reduced the narrative neatly and also toned down the violence. Speaking of performances, Ahan Shetty is a bit raw at places but in the second half, he shines. If he improves a bit and signs some good films, he is here to stay. Tara Sutaria is a surprise, especially in the later part of the film. Saurabh Shukla is adorable and his fashion sense is spot-on. Kumud Mishra is dependable as always. Sumit Gulati (LOL) fails to raise laughs. Saurav Chakrabarti (Guthli) dominates the pre-climax. The songs also help in creating an impact. ‘Tumse Bhi Zyada’  will keep lingering in your mind and it’s a pleasure to hear such a good song in ages. ‘Tere Siva Jag Mein’ is also great and beautifully shot. All in all, Tadap is an average fare and worth a watch for Ahan Shetty’s debut, soundtrack and the twist.

My rating – ** ½ out of 5!
