Superboys Of Malegaon is based on the fascinating Malegaon film industry. The film begins on an okay note but then picks up well. The first half gives a déjà vu of the cult Marathi film Harishchandrachi Factory as the underdogs try to put up a film despite challenging circumstances. After a dramatic intermission point, the film drops in the second half. Thankfully, it picks up (and how) in the climax. The final scene is sure to give goosebumps. Adarsh Gourav plays the lead part wonderfully and he looks convincing as a leader. Vineet Kumar Singh rocks the show yet again after Chhaava. Shashank Arora doesn’t have much to do initially but later, he leaves a huge mark. Manjiri Pupala (Trupti) and Muskkaan Jaferi (Shabeena) are memorable. Anuj Singh Duhan (Akram), Pallav Singh (Alim), Saqib Ayub (Irfan), Sanjay Dadich (Siraj), Abhinav Grover (Raju; tea seller) and Yash Yogendra (Asif Albela) lend able support. All in all, Superboys Of Malegaon has the potential to be the Laapataa Ladies or 12th Fail of this year. Here’s hoping that despite negligible buzz and dull posters, it manages to attract viewers to cinemas.
