Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is yet another great addition to this fun-filled series. Director Jeff Fowler packs in a lot in 110 minutes and keeps viewers hooked from start to finish. The dialogues are one of the best parts of this series and takes the film to another level. However, this time the humour quotient is limited and the film is darker than the earlier parts. The narrative also gets a bit messy this time. The mid-credit scene is promising and the film has a post-credit sequence, a first for this series. But it’s underwhelming. Ben Schwartz, Colleen O’Shaughnessey and Idris Elba do a good job in voicing Sonic, Tails and Knuckles respectively. Keanu Reeves is superb as the voice of Shadow. Jim Carrey is highly entertaining and this time, he plays a double role, with aplomb. James Marsden (Tom Wachowski), Tika Sumpter (Maddie Wachowski), Lee Majdoub (Agent Stone) and Alyla Browne (Maria) are great in supporting roles. All in all, Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is a well-made entertainer and a must for the fans of the series.
