Shaitaan is laced with a powerful storyline and is engaging from the word ‘Go’. The tension levels gradually increase as the stranger enters the house and later reveals his true intentions. There are several nail-biting sequences which keep the interest going while the climax is clapworthy. However, the film could have been shorter. There are too many cinematic liberties, some of which were avoidable. The villain track is also difficult to digest. Lastly, the makers should have avoided showing certain elements that might give away how the end will unfold. Speaking of performances, R Madhavan steals the show and takes the film to another level. Janki Bodiwala is terrific, to say the least. Ajay Devgn, too, puts his best foot forward, especially in the second half. Jyotika is dependable while Anngad Raaj is quite confident. All in all, Shaitaan makes for a decent watch.
