Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar has a very interesting start and immediately arrests attention. The plot is interesting and it could have been made for a nice thriller. Also, the Pithoragarh setting adds to the charm. Sadly, the film soon goes downhill. Only a few scenes arrest attention. The rest of them are niche and dry. On top of it, the sound mixing is horribly done and this is shocking considering that this is a film by a reputed production house. Speaking of performances, Parineeti Chopra manages to put up a very convincing act. It’s great to see that she’s taking up challenging roles and trying to break her bubbly image. Arjun Kapoor underplays his part nicely. Jaideep Ahlawat, as always, is dependable. Neena Gupta and Raghubir Yadav are too good, especially in their respective entry scenes. Sukant Goel (bank manager Sumit) leaves a mark in the pre-climax. Dinker (Parichay), Suruchi Aulakh (Purva), Archana Patel (Sejal), Rahul Kumar (Munna) and Dev Chauhan (Nyal) are decent. All in all, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar is a poor fare.
