Pippa, which has released today directly on Amazon Prime Video, is based on a real-life incident and is also a story of three siblings, working for the country. The first scene is chilling and the initial sequences keep the interest going. But the interest soon dips as it doesn’t have clapworthy moments, which is a must in a big-scale war film. Moreover, we have seen films like Uri (2019) and Shershaah (2021) which were better even in terms of emotional scenes. Pippa is nowhere close. Ishaan Khatter puts his best foot forward but looks too young for the part. Mrunal Thakur is impressive. However, she has limited screen time. Priyanshu Painyuli is quite good and restrained. Soni Razdan gets limited scope. Inaamulhaq (Shibli) hams. Soham Majumdar, Chandrachoor Rai (Daljit Singh Narag aka Chiefy) and Anuj Singh Duhan (Tejinder Singh aka Speedy) leave a mark. Leysan Karimova (Russian translator Zena) is okay. Kamal Sadanah is a surprise as Sam Manekshaw. All in all, Pippa fails to make a mark.
