(Crisp) Movie Review: PHIR AAYI HASSEEN DILLRUBA by FENIL SETA

Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, which released today on Netflix, takes the story of Haseen Dillruba forward. The film begins on an interesting note and as it progresses, one gets sucked into the world. The intermission point is very unexpected. Sadly, the sequel suffers from the same issue as the first part – after a fine first half, it goes downhill due to too many cinematic liberties. Just like too many cooks spoil the broth, similarly, too many twists can also spoil the narrative. The changing dynamics between characters also is not convincing. The performances, however, are exemplary. Taapsee Pannu yet again rocks the show and looks like a million bucks. Vikrant Massey, too, contributes well to the madness. Sunny Kaushal is a big surprise. Bhumika Dube (Poonam) leaves a huge mark. Jimmy Shergill and Aditya Srivastava are okay and are let down by the writing. All in all, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba is a disappointing film, just like the first part.
