(Crisp) Movie Review: MY SPY: THE ETERNAL CITY by FENIL SETA

My Spy: The Eternal City, which has released today on Amazon Prime Video, is the sequel to the fun 2020 action comedy My Spy. The sequel takes the story forward and this time, the characters are on a new mission and even at loggerheads with each other. The action is routine and it’s the humour which was the USP of the first film. Even in the sequel, it’s the funny one-liners and moments that keep the interest going. The villain track, however, is weak and also, the first 30 minutes are unexciting. Dave Bautista, however, is impressive and looks dashing. Chloe Coleman is the star of the series. She’s too good and this time, she also does action. Kristen Schaal (Bobbi) steals the show with her expressions and sarcasm. Ken Jeong (David Kim), Taeho K (Collin) and Billy Barratt (Ryan) lend able support. The actors playing the villains are just okay. All in all, My Spy: The Eternal City makes for a good, timepass watch.
