The biggest strengths of Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, which has released on Netflix today, are simplicity and relatability. It touches upon modern-day complexities in relationships and obsession with social media. As a result, the youth will surely be able to relate to the goings-on. The friendship is presented beautifully and what happens in their individual lives is a bit novel for cinema. Hence, it keeps the interest going. Sadly, the 134-minute-long film could have easily been shorter by 20 minutes. The culmination of a crucial track is unexpected and also a bit dark. But it’s not convincing. Also, it’s abrupt. Speaking of performances, Siddhant Chaturvedi rocks the show with his comic timing and the manner in which he has aced the emotional scenes. Ananya Panday proves her worth and looks at ease while performing. Adarsh Gourav is terrific, as expected. Kalki Koechlin is adorable and apt for the role. Anya Singh (Lala) is great and a bit over the top but it was necessary for her role. Vijay Maurya (Malcolm; Neil’s father) and Rahul Vohra (Aamir; Imaad’s father) leave a mark. Rohan Gurbaxani (Rohan) is okay. Malaika Arora is sizzling in a cameo. Songs are okay but watch out for ‘Ishq Nachaawe’ – very well picturized. All in all, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan is watchable, especially with your friends.
