KGF – Chapter 2 takes off from where KGF ended. The world imagined by writer-director Prashanth Neel made for a great watch in the first part, and here, he goes one step ahead. The scale and grandeur are at another level this time. The action is also quite fun to watch and Prashanth, on his part, has tried to ensure that there’s enough mass elements in the movie. A few scenes stand out. Sadly, the second half is stretched. Such films thrive on hero worship but here, it happens a lot of times, needlessly adding to the duration. The finale is unexpected but could have been better. Yash, as expected, rocks the show. His style and swag are unparalleled. Sanjay Dutt is decent. Raveena Tandon has a late entry and she leaves a tremendous mark. Srinidhi Shetty is lovely in a small role. Ayyappa P Sharma (Vanaram) is quite good while Archana Jois (Rocky’s mother) contributes a lot to the film’s emotional quotient. Govinde Gowda is adorable as the peon. Malavika Avinash (Deepa Hegde; journalist) and Prakash Raj deliver worthy performances. Rao Ramesh (Raghavan; CBI officer) stands out in an important scene. All in all, KGF – Chapter 2 is a fine, one-time watch film. It’ll be best enjoyed on the big screen. (P.S.: Don’t miss the mid-credit scene)
