Kahaani 2 has a spellbinding first half that keeps viewers totally on the edge of their seats. In fact, there’s so much happening and it’s executed so nicely that one is simply left amazed. Will Kahaani 2 turn out to be better than part 1 is what I was thinking! But alas, I soon got my answer. And the answer was no. The second half is where the film becomes a bit unrealistic and unconvincing. It’s also predictable although at one point, it does give viewers a jolt. But the punch delivered by Kahaani 4 years ago is missing. Even Kolkata is not shown much. Vidya Balan however is simply fantastic. Naisha Khanna (young Mini) rocks the most. Arjun Rampal also does fairly good without going overboard. Kharaj Mukherjee as Arjun’s senior leaves a huge mark. Jugal Hansraj is okay while the actress playing his mother is quite nice. Manini Chadha as Arjun Rampal’s wife is a great discovery. Tota Roy Chowdhury (Arun) is lovely. Overall, it’s a nice attempt and I am sure this film will be seen (or must have already been seen) by fans of Kahaani and Vidya!
P.S.: The new anti-smoking ad featuring Rahul Dravid is BAD! I miss ‘Iss shehar ko yeh hua kya hai’ ad…
