House Of Gucci begins on a superb note. The first half is very exciting as the characters and their problems are neatly explained. The plot is very fascinating. I had no idea about the checkered history of the Gucci family. I am sure many would also not be aware and hence, they’ll be quite fascinated. In the second half, the film ceases to be exciting. A few developments are very unconvincing or rather are quite unexciting. The climax is arresting, thankfully. Speaking of performances, Lady Gaga, Adam Driver and Jared Leto deliver Oscar worthy performances or Oscar nomination worthy performances at least. Lady Gaga is stunning and totally in the skin of his character. This is yet another memorable performance from her after A Star Is Born. Adam Driver is restrained and has minimal dialogues. But he leaves a tremendous mark. Jared Leto is unrecognizable and is terrific in a supporting role. Al Pacino, as expected, is rocking. Jeremy Irons has a limited role but he shines. Salma Hayek and Jack Huston are okay. Youssef Kerkour is fine. All in all, House Of Gucci is a decent one-time watch with the performances being a major USP.
