Fraud Saiyaan gives a déjà vu of films like Dolly Ki Doli and Kis Kisko Pyaar Karon. This is a delayed movie and 4-5 years ago, it would have worked. But in today’s times, it seems a bit dated and also regressive at some places. The fart scenes don’t raise any laugh and one wonders why even force such tactics for humour quotient. Moreover, despite being just 112 minutes long, it seems quite a drag. On the positive side, the film has some nice quirky and funny moments that keep the interest going. The finale also is unexpected that enhances interest. Also, Arshad Warsi is excellent and he’s apt for this role. His look and persona is such that he can pull of such a ‘fraud’ role with ease and yet, he won’t seem negative. Saurabh Shukla is entertaining. From the girls, Sara Loren has a crucial part and leaves a mark. Flora Saini (the stree in Stree) comes next and she has a scope, if she gets some interesting parts. Elli AvrRam is decent. Her scene is an afterthought and added after the film was ready. But it was very nicely incorporated in the film. Amusingly, her character’s name is Chandni but she has the ‘Elli AvrRam’ tattoo on her body! Bhawana Pani is funny while Deepali Pansare, Anangsha Biswas and Nivedita Tiwari are okay. All in all, Fraud Saiyaan is an average fare and if not in cinemas, it can surely be seen on television for some laughs!
