Dream Girl 2 rests on a great premise and could have been yet another laugh-a-minute riot, just like the predecessor. The first half is too quick but has some very funny moments. One expects the second half to be maddening, just like it happened in the first part. Sadly, the film drops after the interval. Certain funny developments and characters are forcefully added and then forgotten. The climax is very weak. What saves the film are some comic moments and the very witty and hilarious dialogues. Ayushmann Khurrana gives his best shot and is especially superb as Pooja. Ananya Panday does fine but doesn’t get much scope. Annu Kapoor and Vijay Raaz are underwhelming. Paresh Rawal and Abhishek Banerjee decent. Rajpal Yadav is too funny. Manjot Singh is dependable. Manoj Joshi is hardly there. Asrani leaves a mark in a small role. Anusha Mishra (Sakina) and Sudesh Lehri (Baba) are wasted. Seema Pahwa (Jumani) does well. Ranjan Raj (Tiger Pandey) and Sapna Sand (Principal) steal the show. All in all, Dream Girl 2 is average and not as entertaining as the first part.
