Crew starts with style. The back-and-forth narrative and the introduction of the characters suck you into their world instantly. The 120-minute film doesn’t get boring even for a moment. The last 30 minutes are very engaging. Songs are catchy and the use of the instrumental theme of ‘Choli’ in the background score is a very smart idea. On the flipside, the film never goes into the ‘LOL’ zone, when the potential was very much there. The makers, at places, rush the narrative too quickly and don’t allow viewers to process certain developments. Things also happen quite conveniently for the trio from start to finish. Kareena Kapoor and Tabu look stunning and deliver fine performances. Kriti Sanon deserves praise as she puts up a strong performance despite sharing space with two powerful performers. Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma are lovely in supporting roles. Trupti Khamkar (Mala; customs officer) is the surprise of the film. Rajesh Sharma, Saswata Chatterjee, Charu Shankar (Sudha Mittal) and Rammakant Daayama (Rajvanshi) are decent. All in all, Crew is a one-time watch timepass entertainer.
