(Crisp) Movie Review: BORDERLANDS by FENIL SETA

Borderlands has scale and grandeur and of course, some great action scenes, which keep the interest going. A few sequences stand out and the twist in the climax is unexpected. But the film hardly has any humour. There are no subtitles and hence, some dialogues are difficult to comprehend. The biggest issue, however, is that the film looks like a cheap copy of Guardians Of The Galaxy, Dune, Mad Max and even Wall-E! Cate Blanchett (Lilith) plays the lead part with aplomb and looks cool while doing action. Ariana Greenblatt (Tina) shines and plays the difficult character with ease. The rest of the actors like Kevin Hart (Roland), Jamie Lee Curtis (Dr Patricia Tannis), Florian Munteanu (Krieg) and Edgar Ramírez (Atlas) are just okay. Jack Black (voice of Claptrap) tries to raise laughs but is let down by the dialogues. All in all, Borderlands is avoidable.
