Binny And Family starts on a good note but the first half is such that you might wonder where the film is heading. But don’t give up. Wait for the second half and you’ll be stunned. The narrative goes on another level after the intermission and is peppered with funny and strong emotional moments. It doesn’t apply the ‘Baghban strategy’, that is, painting the youngsters as villains. It shows the plusses and minuses of both and also advocates for better communication. On the flipside, the first half, as mentioned above, could have been better. Also, the track of the dashing student is weak. The soundtrack is also not upto the mark. Speaking of performances, Varun Dhawan‘s niece Anjini Dhawan makes a great debut and does much better than many other debutants of recent times. Pankaj Kapur has delivered many great performances but this is one of his best. Rajesh Kumar is adorable and the way switches between accents is praiseworthy. Charu Shankar is too good. Naman Tripathy (Bhavesh Parekh) is a great find. Tai Khan (Dhruv) is decent. All in all, Binny And Family is the surprise of the year and deserves to be watched in cinemas with your whole family. The awareness is very limited and here’s hoping it grows from strength to strength. Such genuine efforts deserve to get their due on the big screen.
