Bachchhan Paandey had the potential to be a laugh a minute riot. Sadly, the film has less comedy and more violence when ideally, it should have been vice versa. Moreover, most of the funny moments don’t raise laughs. The side characters seemed exciting and haven’t been utilised well. On the positive side, a few scenes are handled well. The finale is unexpected and that turns out to be a saving grace. Akshay Kumar is highly entertaining and also one of the big reasons why its bearable. Kriti Sanon looks stunning and delivers a fine performance. Arshad Warsi is dependable as always. Jacqueline Fernandez is lovely in a supporting role. Prateik Babbar and Abhimanyu Singh are decent. Sanjay Mishra fails to raise laughs. Saharsh Kumar Shukla is funny, especially due to a scene in the first half. Pankaj Tripathi leaves a mark. Mohan Agashe, Gaurav Chopra and Aroosa Khan are okay. All in all, Bachchhan Paandey is an average fare.
