(Crisp) Movie Review: ALL THE BEST PANDYA by FENIL SETA

All The Best Pandya is a Gujarati film which was released in cinemas on March 14 and since then has been running successfully. It is a courtroom drama and the basic plot reminds of Batti Gul Meter Chalu. But All The Best Pandya is way better than the Shahid Kapoor-starrer. The narrative moves at a decent pace and the courtroom scenes especially keep the interest going. The father-son moments are lovely and the suspense is shocking. Sadly, there are too many cinematic liberties and things happen at convenience. This prevents All The Best Pandya from reaching the Jolly LLB level. Malhar Thakar delivers an entertaining performance. Darshan Jariwala, in a supporting role, rocks the show. Vandana Pathak and Yukti Randeria leave a mark. Vedish Jhaveri is too good as the antagonist. Firoz Irani plays the judge ably. But he tries to be funny; it takes away the authenticity from some scenes. All in all, All The Best Pandya is an entertaining courtroom film. Here’s hoping the makers add subtitles so that the non-Gujarati audiences can also give the film a try.
