(Crisp) Movie Review: A HAUNTING IN VENICE by FENIL SETA

A Haunting In Venice is not as exciting as the previous two parts. It starts on a fun, entertaining note and the plot is promising. But it doesn’t translate well on screen. After the death takes place, the film gets verbose and unexciting. The ending is unpredictable and saves the film from becoming a disaster. Speaking of performances, Kenneth Branagh the actor is much better than Kenneth Branagh the director. Michelle Yeoh (Joyce Reynolds), Tina Fey (Ariadne Oliver), Kyle Allen (Maxime) and Camille Cottin (Olga Seminoff) do quite well. Jude Hill (Leopold), Ali Khan (Nicholas), Emma Laird (Desdemona), Kelly Reilly (Rowena) and Riccardo Scamarcio (Vitale) are alright. All in all, A Haunting In Venice fails to entice.

My rating – ** out of 5!
