Arjun Kapoor is a worried man. He has missed Raksha Bandhan due to the shoot of his film Half Girlfriend. His sisters are very angry and he has to still think how to make up to them now that he’s back to Mumbai. But probably he hasn’t met them yet as he’s busy with his date since the last 24 hours which is actually his bed! In tired Arjun’s own words, “I’ve been on a date with my bed since the last 24 hours.”
The actor just returned from South Africa from Half Girlfriend’s shoot and admits that he hasn’t been so homesick. But he’s happy that he’s getting to play so many characters and also, getting to travel so many places. He applauded South Africa’s work-friendly people but sadly, he didn’t got to do sightseeing as he was filming an intense sequence out there. He agrees that he relates to the film’s title and the character of Madhav Jha that he portrays. After all, everyone has gone through chapters of unrequited love. He praises director Mohit Suri who’s encouraging and open to suggestions and giving layers to Madhav’s character that probably weren’t there in Chetan Bhagat’s novel. He assures viewers that the basketball scenes in the film would look very authentic and ‘cool’ since he trained with NBA coaches for 2 months.
For the first time, Arjun confirms that he’s doing Mubaraka, Anees Bazmee’s next in which he’ll team up with his chacha Anil Kapoor. Arjun even reveals a secret about Anil – he will never hold a plate but can steal food from other people’s plates while chatting without them even knowing and then grouse that he hasn’t eat anything throughout the day! He is very excited to do Mubaraka with the Anil Kapoor-Anees Bazmee that has given blockbuster comic capers like Welcome and No Entry in the past.
Anil’s son Harshvardhan is all set to debut as an actor with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mirzya and Arjun is all praises for the debutant actor. He says that Harshvardhan has a mind and opinion of his own. He suggests that he should focus on his work and not plan far ahead. Although he’s inclined towards offbeat films, Arjun is sure that he’ll do commercial films when the time is right.
